 Grime City Stories: Wireless
As many of you know, in the wake of "Superheroine Squad" Finister and I have altered our schedule and moved to a monthly format of short (one or two issue) comics which will spotlight various individual characters within the Metrobay Universe. These "Grime City Stories" begin this Sunday, February 24 with a little ditty we call "Wireless", starring one of the newest Superheroine Squad members... RollerGrrl!

Check back on Sunday to see what sort of adventures RollerGrrl gets into, and the familiar faces that pay her a visit. You'll only find it here at HIPComix.com!

Members Area Update 2/24: "Grime City Stories"
We're baaaack!
Okay, so three weeks isn't really much of a break, but working on these stories (and with a talented artist like FinisterFoul) is just too much fun to quit cold turkey. So, His Foulness and I are pleased to introduce our newest Metrobay Universe series: "Grime City Stories"!
So what exactly are Grime City Stories? Well, long story short (literally) they are going to be a series of one, two, or three chapter minicomics which feature a superheroine or two that we have introduced in previous comics and we feel deserve to get a little extra attention all to themselves. We will get to see a little bit of how these characters live in and out of uniform, and how they fare when away from the rest of the Superheroine Squad. The title "Grime City" is taken from the local nickname of Metrobay's crime-ridden south side, where villains like Dr. Twisted and The Boyz have made their homes and the Superheroine Squad faces some of their toughest challenges on a regular basis.
This week we kick off our first Grime City Story with a little piece called "Wireless", which spotlights the superheroine named RollerGrrl as she finds herself in a compromising situation courtesy of none other than the sexy villainess Ginger Monroe! See what happens when Ginger infiltrates RollerGrrl's civilian sanctuary, and how the gorgeous redhead intends to get what she wants from RollerGrrl, no matter the cost! It's all in chapter one of "Wireless", written by Doctor Robo and illustrated by FinisterFoul exclusively for HIPComix.com!

Let me get this straight... we waited all this time for this? THIS?! C'mon, I mean seriously. This was so completely, inexcusably, utterly, momenumentally... worth it!
Great job so far! It's always great to see some of the "rushed" characters from earlier fleshed out a bit (pun more or less intended.)
Now I just need to figure out what to do between now and the next chapter.... perhaps I'll finish that game I've been trying to beat for years. Maybe I'll learn a dead language. Or maybe, just maybe, I'll get some progress done on MY story...
Finister... I still don't know how you do it, but, wow, your art is amazing... and makes me really, really self-aware...

LOL @ "really self-aware." I know how you feel, buddy!
Great job guys! Loved the blank looks and the betrayal of her friend. Can't wait to see what happens next. Do we really have to wait a month?! Sigh!
I won't be able to look at a receptionist with a wireless phone like that the same way again.
Keep up the great work!

Wow! Great installment. You folks are so imaginative. Fun to see some newer heroines in the story, too. Thanks!

Thanks for all of your great comments everyone. Like I said before our goal with these short stories is to give some of the lesser-known characters some time to shine while still telling the Metrobay Universe stories that we love to tell. I think that Finister did an excellent job with the art in this issue. Fun fact: he constructed the 'greentooth' earpiece prop himself! How cool is that?
Our next issue will drop on Sunday March 23, so mark your calendars. I'll still check the forums regularly until then, so keep the great comments and questions coming!

Reminds me of the fairly recent Dr. Who episode with the cybermen. Almost everyone wore bluetooth-esque headsets that allowed them to be controlled.

I put a note with one of the renders but I just thought I'd post here how much I liked that Arisa and Holly's hairdos allowed you to see their new control devices perfectly as long as you knew what to look for. Rollergrrl's assymetrical do is especially flattering on her though a little of that look goes a long way for me. Personally I'm into shoulder length or longer locks.

Any similarities between that Doctor Who episode and this comic are completely unintentional. In fact, I don't know what you're talking about. What's a "Doctor Who"? Who are you people anyway?

Credit Finister for RollerGrrl's stylish 'do, and for the good sense to put her earpiece in the ear on the short side!

Well I loved how Ginger Boldly had her way with Aprisa in her own office.
Ginger could have taken her bra or her underwear as a trophy
By the way sexy self stripping of Aprisa, where did she buy her lacy bra and panties. You should show them shopping a Grime City's version of Victoria's Secret

Just had an idea, why not have Ginger work in a lingerie store to target the young recruits. She can for instance help them fit a bra in a changing room and she can slip her mind control headset to have some fun time.

That's not a bad idea. We do have more plans for Ginger and the greentooth earpieces down the road but I will certainly keep yours in mind!
