A few hours have passed. Yin and Ricochet have brought Cliff to meet someone. Much has just happened to this young man. But what he's about to face is even more incredible than he can ever imagine. And what he has yet to face is even more mind numbing. We'll learn this and more as we read on.

This was, as you said, a transitional issue: We only saw the characters claiming their compromise to take Roland and realizing is something easier said that done.

And about the medical implants eliminated, it was a good detail: Those things are installed in almost all the humans in your universe, which is that makes Roland so scary.
