Post Re: SCAR CITY CHRONICLES CHAPTER 27 !
Hi Max and Mitru!

So, I get Cliff was Wild Bill’s son and that he has a maybe uneasy alliance with Ricochet, or at least he knows her before this.

The artwork is superb as always, and the showing of a corpse was done with good taste. The point here is that maybe I’m reading a little too much of your story.

Here, after Dr. Metz meeting and seeing what Roland did to Belinda, I saw him as a unstoppable force, capable of taking any human being or coordinate any attack in anyone he picks up.

But your comments told me that he is (still) not that powerful. And then I think that having that power will have a really bad impression in a psyche so screwed like Roland’s.

So, I think I will have to wait for next issue to see what is the real situation (I have noticed that you’re taking now three issues to make an arc to your story, will that trend continue?)

Thanks for everything!

Great observations all around. Think about the fact that Dr. Metz was willing to take the risk of meeting Juno Viroy at home when he did. Would he have made such a bold move if Roland was unstoppable at that point? His goal at that point was to begin to tip the scales beyond his own ability. Furthermore, he's letting someone else do his dirty work, leaving him removed far enough to claim innocence.

But his ultimate reason remains grounded in the fact that the supercomputer and artificial intelligence that now live within Roland's body are beyond his ability to stop and will continue to grow in power. You'll see more of this come chapter 30.

Speaking of chapter 30 and the pattern of three chapters per story cycle, that's deliberate on my part. If the story lingers too much beyond 30 pages, it can become too convoluted or run too long to hold interest. There are the rare exceptions where Mitru had added extra pages filled with action or added details he wants to feature in a given section of the story. He has many of these details worked out and we're producing the story with these in mind.

Chapter 30 will be a rare single chapter transition. A brief peek between the story cycles, both looking back and to the future. It may run 15 or more pages long. And it will contain some details that are relevant to the concerns of Dr. Metz as well as Dr. Viroy and her team.

Thanks for reading!
