Blaise Montoya -The Price of Power-#10
PALAU, ABANDONED AIRSTRIP — 11:48 PM
A storm rolls in. Lightning flashes across the cracked runway.
Lord Alistair Pembroke steps out, umbrella in hand, looking older than usual. He checks his watch. Nervous.
Headlights appear.
Blaise’s motorcycle roars into view. She stops inches from him. She removes her helmet — eyes sharp, unreadable. “You said it was urgent.”
Pembroke swallows hard... “It’s time I told you the truth.”
Inside the hangar, Pembroke hands Blaise a sealed folder.
Inside: photos of Pembroke with Viktor Draavos, financial transfers and a contract signed 12 years ago.
Blaise steps closer — fury simmering. "You should have told me."
"I was ashamed. And afraid you’d walk away...You’re the closest thing I have to a daughter.”
Blaise freezes... the words hit harder than she expects. “You don’t get to say that.”
She closes the folder and walks toward her motorcycle, helmet in hand.
She stops...Something feels wrong. A faint click. She turns... A van screeches in. Masked men jump out... Blaise Montoya -The Price of Power-#10:
