The great headquarters where heroes once convened lies dark and dust, choked, its heart stopped. Chase Monroe, once a beacon, trains alone in exile. Nikki, gutted by loss, turned her back on the world she once saved. Sunny Dae, so vibrant and joyful, is now broken in the hands of zealots who rewrite her mind with cold precision. And with the schematics of the neuro, expropriator locked in her head, she edges closer to creating a machine that could wipe resistance from existence entirely.

Meanwhile, alliances unravel. Jake Eldridge, once assigned to secure political power, now courts a darker throne by aligning with Alex. The city’s underground, Sublevel 10, hides the last pieces of a shattered puzzle. There, Casey Stern uncovers legacy after legacy: Apotheosis and Vortexxx, heroines submerged in tanks and torment. Diana Warner, her mother, a shadow of herself. And the eerie calm of Miss Red, watching from the margins, waiting. Elsewhere, truth decays.

Solstice inconstant fear of molecular collapse. Conviction and Danger Dame are going rogue. Alex tightened her grip. Heroes betrayed, imprisoned, fractured… and forgotten.

But the city breathes. Barely. And from the shadows, the story continues.
