As she lay unconscious on the ground, Crystal heard a voice speaking to her. " Crystal Carter. You have been chosen for your purity of mind, heart and body. You shall be the new champion of justice and protectress of the weak. Accept now the power of the bear."
Crystal opened her eyes and got up from the ground. As she wondered whether the voice she heard was a dream, Crystal was surprised to see a necklace around her neck with a bear claw amulet.
Acting on an instinct, the young black woman began to spin on a single spot. A black aura swirled around her and she heard the roar of a black bear.
