Blaise Montoya -The Price of Power-#20 The team moved through the surf in the dead of night, utilizing low-profile infiltration craft. They operated in a vacuum of sound, the only communication flowing through encrypted sub-vocally activated headsets.
Nix’s voice crackled in their ears, hushed and focused. “Cameras are looped on a twenty-second delay. Guards are diverted to the north perimeter. And for a bit of psychological warfare, I’ve overridden their internal audio system.”
“What’s the track?” Briggs whispered.
“'Barbie Girl,’ on a relentless loop.”
Briggs let out a short, dry huff. “Appropriate.”
The operation commenced with a sudden, violent rupture. Briggs stormed the north gate, a whirlwind of kinetic energy and suppressed fire, drawing the garrison's attention with brutal efficiency. Simultaneously, Elara ghosted through the ventilation and tunnel systems, neutralizing sentries with a silent, lethal economy of motion. Nix systematically collapsed the outer perimeter’s digital defenses, turning the compound’s own security against itself.
Blaise and Gideon marched up the main promenade, completely exposed, their silhouettes stark against the moonlight.
“You sure about this?” Gideon asked, his hand tight on his weapon.
“No,” Blaise replied.
In one fluid motion, she drew her sidearm. “Let’s go.”Blaise Montoya -The Price of Power-#20: http://memberslogin.hipcomix.com/gallery3/index.php/Mitru/Blaise-Montoya/The-Price-of-Power?page=4 Read on... ONLY in HIPcomix.com
