The ward hummed with the low thrum of ventilation and the distant percussion of Tokyo traffic, a mechanical lullaby for the city's fallen guardian. Fluorescent tubes cast their sterile glare across white walls, across the single bed where Super San lay inert, her white bodysuit gleaming like fresh snow against the gray linens. The red circle on her chest pulsed with each shallow breath, a dim beacon in the dimmed room.

Footsteps approached from the corridor, measured and deliberate. The door swung inward without announcement, revealing Kenjiro Sato in his charcoal suit.

"The perimeter is secured. No personnel without my direct authorization. Your assessment, Doctor. I need timeframes, not speculation."

Hiroshi Tanaka, sixty-four years of medical knowledge and classified research contained in a stooped frame. he moved past him, his eyes already finding the rise and fall of that crimson emblem. He said nothing as he approached, his face a carefully constructed facade of clinical detachment. Only the slight tremor in his fingers betrayed him as he set his bag upon the side table, the clasps snapping open with sounds too loud in the hush.

"Her heartbeat is steady… but faint. The gas and lasers struck deep. Cellular damage throughout the respiratory system.I've seen similar presentations in test subjects exposed to concentrated Mori compounds."

Hiroshi adjusted the scanner, moving it fractionally, listening again to the muffled percussion beneath spandex and symbol.

"She is comprehensively unconscious. She will remain this way for one full day."

Sato's jaw tightened, a micromovement that rearranged the topography of his face.

"One day… and in that time, the Mori Syndicate will scatter with their weapons. Tokyo cannot affordher absence."
