With no team beside her and only warnings at her ear, Sonja must now learn what it means to defend a city without a net.

Back at Knox Labs, the real Trixi returned, dragging EVO Tr1x1 behind her like a glitch in the code. This imposter wears her name. Her face. Her history. Trixi wants it deactivated, dismantled, erased. But Greer sees potential. A breakthrough in artificial intelligence, robotics, and behavioral mimicry. The lab grows colder as the two scientists clash—identity versus advancement, legacy versus evolution.

Deep beneath Springfield, the U.S. Department of Alien Studies operates in the shadows. Inside, scientists Jennifer Vale and Kari Dawson are under pressure. Tasked with unlocking the secrets of alien weaponry and remains left behind after the invasion, their work is scrutinized by Special Agent Rebecca Pierce. The government wants defenses. The scientists want time. And something alien watches from the dark.

Meanwhile, power plays unfold in Springfield’s most twisted sanctum. Magdaline, High Priestess of the Covenant of the Veil, grows wary of Lauren White, whose grip over Sunny Dae’s conditioning has tightened. Behind smiles and rituals, Lauren begins making moves of her own… and Magdaline knows it.

High above the Chinese coastline, Chase Monroe trains with StormDragon, her every breath a study in restraint and power. AmeriGirl arrives, desperate for her to return to the field. But Chase refuses. She’s not ready. Not yet. The guilt is growing, but so is her discipline. Sonja leaves angry, but not defeated.

And deep in Sublevel 10, Casey Stern received a breakthrough. Dr. Raven Sloane believes she’s discovered how to neutralize Nova Davis’ metal manipulation. The implications are staggering… if true, Casey may now hold the key to disabling one of the most powerful heroines the Guardians ever had.
