Member's Update March 21! Origin of "The Sorority" - Ep 01
So it's finally here! Something I've been working on in the background for months! While I'm working on the final exciting chapter of Batgrrl, I've been writing this! You will NOT be displeased!
1352 B.C. Nefertiti and the pharaoh Amenhotep took an active role in establishing the Aten cult, a religious mythology which defined Aten, the sun, as the most important god and the only one worthy of worship in Egypt. Amenhotep changed his name to Akhenaten to honor the god. Nefertiti was perhaps one of the most powerful women ever to have ruled. But despite this great power, Nefertiti disappears from all depictions after 12 years. The reason for her disappearance is unknown. Some scholars believe she died. Others say she was murdered.
She was not dead or murdered, Nefertiti drew power from the Sun Disc, an ancient artifact empowered by the god Aten which she used to give herself superhuman powers, and give her people the ultimate protection. The priests of the former polytheistic religion Akun rose up against Akhenaten.
Nefertiti fought hard, but the priests of Akun captured her son Tutankhaten, and she was for--d to surrender. Separating her from the sun disc, The amulet that gave her power, they then imprisoned her.
With his mother imprisoned, Tutankhaten was for--d by the Akun priests to follow the orders of Kiya, the young one.
Kiya was wise. She knew that the sun desk would eventually corrupt Nefertiti and the future pharaoh Tutankhaten. The sun God Aten would enslave and rule humanity rather than allow them to thrive on their own as Akun, the hidden one, would. With Kyra now having possession of the Sun Disc, Akun could once again be named god of the land. Now we know what happened to the great Nefertiti! Soon we will learn the fate of the great Sun Disc.
