ijust posted an amazing image rendered in poser seven, it includes 8 millenium figures, all with hair. it includes the sanctum art sci fi set with over a dozen transparency maps plus reflection maps...i am just astonished that my computer rendered all of this in one pass and didn't crash...
to see the full detail see the gallery version, (it's huge)...

i am really excited at this expanded capability of poser...how about you, fellow artists ? what's stirring you up, these days ?

Very impressive image and very, very impressive that it only took one render.

I'm kind of pausing to regroup at the moment. I spent most of last year teaching myself the basics of Poser6 and Paintbrush Pro while building up my library through Daz's Platinum Club. (A nice thing about joining the game late is that lots of good stuff was available free or at discounted prices).

Carrera's lighting looks fantastic. Poser7 seems to have greater stability and power. Some of Vicky4's textures look amazing. I've been tempted by them all, but I figure that I should work out how to get the best with what I already have before moving on.

Dose.

what i appreciate most about poser seven is that with
my dual processor rig it handles far more complex renders. it is much faster as well. that means that a hip update takes less time to work out, freeing me up for other work. i initially bought carerra to get that speed and depth, but now there's no real need to export out of poser, that's a nice option.

with the amount of detail in your period series i would think that p-7's depth might help out...for $200 it seems like a bargain when you consider the time savings...i haven't heard much about how it performs with a single processor, lower memory system.

Speaking as a writer, having the ability to prove a page concept as viable in a story is worth the price of admission. Any time one can eliminate any extra workflow stages, you free up time and resources to make the story that much better.

And you get the chance to do things you wouldn't have risked before, such as a complex render like the example Timo posted. You'll be seeing a lot more pages like this.

I won't say exactly how much material we have at hand now, but we'll have no problem meeting a weekly deadline thanks to P7 and the hardware Timo bought to run it. A very worthwhile investment!

The idea is while it is rendering you can click back to your 2d program and carry on working ! There is no need to wait anymore because the dual processor can focus on two tasks at once.
