I have been in conversation with MesmerEyes (a longtime friend of HIPComix) about doing some regular promotion on his site, the Hypnopics Collective. While most of us do not dabble in mind control fiction, I certainly do, and there are many potential customers who frequent that site who are willing to spend money to see the kind of images that they like. Many in fact have already, as you can see by the comments we are getting on this forum.

My point is that Mesmer is willing to allow us to promote HIP on his site as long as we offer something in return, specifically images for their free gallery that reflect a mind control theme. It can be anything even remotely related to mind control: brainwashing, hypnosis, robotization, sleep/sensory deprivation, drugging...you name it. Of course a superheroine theme would be expected as many members over there list heroines in peril as one of their secondary fetishes. As an example, November's 'theme' in their galleries is "How to Enslave a Superheroine". If that's not an obvious sign to us, I don't know what is.

Providing some freebies with the HIPComix logo and URL would be an easy way go garner some attention, while at the same time allowing us to freely promote on the message boards. This site has over 1200 members, many of them hungry for the type of adult content that we provide. This is a good way of letting them know it's here.

Let me know if you guys are interested in some sort of arrangement.

The only policy they have on images is that they are not of minors. There has been a pretty big debate ofer the use of cartoon characters (particularly Japanese 'manga' girls) that are underage in their respective storylines but are drawn to look like young adults. For obvious reasons I choose to stay away from the genre entirely.

Otherwise, there isn't much in the way of limits in what can be posted. Pretty much anything goes, from the fully clothed to downright hardcore pornography. I guess the only other stipulation would be no 'male on male' images, but that doesn't seem to be an issue for those who work here at HIP.

As for picture size, I do not think there is a limit. I believe that their gallery resizes the images when they are uploaded, so anything that exceeds their parameters will be automatically shrunken down to fit anyway.

For you artists, I'll warn you that the Hypnotics Collective is mainly where photo-manipulation artists hangout and you may get some nitpicky comments by photo-manip artists, but we're selling to the lurkers there who never say anything. Those viewers are going to love your shit.

So, if you get hit with some comments about 'Poser' or '3d' art, just ignore and watch your hits - the hits on an image is the true determination of whether your promo image sucks or kicks ass.

Here are some things I learned from Doc Robo:

(1) Roll your women's eyes back so only the whites of the eyes show - gives the impression of them being hypnostized or under some kind of mind control

(2) Robo chicks are like robots and are stiff, like military guys standing at strict attention.

I have 'stand at attention' and 'robogirl march' poses if you guys want some.

Maybe Doc can elaborate on some things the MC/Hypno crowd gets aroused by.

The MC crowd is way under served by the Poser community - Marvlin has pretty much had a monopoly on it.

Lastly, Mesmerize has been a fantastic site supporter of us by writing up Siskel/Ebert type critique on your all's work.

I don't get Mind Control, but the MC crowd seems to eat up our stuff.

Seriously, what Fin said is true, but in a very limited sense. Like all fantasies, mind control is wide ranging and encompasses a lot of different smaller fetishes. What Fin described is what * I * personally like to see, and therefore what I have instructed him to depict in our stories. They include: white eyes (called whitewash), stiff posture, blank facial expression, stilted and monotone voice, and an outwardly visible control device (in our case, those silver helmets).

Of course, there are numerous other parts to the fantasy that other people enjoy a lot more than I do. For example: I prefer the mind control to occur via some sort of technological device, like the aforementioned helmets or some sort of cybernetic implant. But, there are many other ways to go about gaining control. They include:

- Magic (spells and potions)
- Hypnosis/mesmerism (like the old swinging pocket watch or the stage hypnotist)
- Incantation/voodoo
- Drugs
- Orbs/rays/spinning discs
- Alien takeover
- Brainwashing

...and more. All of those things fall under the mind control genre, yet to the discerning eye they are very different. I challenge each of you to explore these areas and decide for yourself what you want to create.

Now if anyone would like to see some examples, email me and I'll be happy to find you some and send them back to you right away. Or, I can post them in the WIP gallery for all to see. Perhaps I'll do that anyway as sort of a 'glossary' to the MC fantasy.

Mesmereyes has posted a message on the Hypnopics Collective informing the members of his intention to create a new sub-forum dedicated to the promotion of pay sites like ours. Here's his message:

It is our intention to introduce a new subforum purely for the use of invited pay sites that produce hypno related material.

The forum will allow these sites to post updates about new material on their sites in order to keep our members informed of the latest goings on.

In return for the invitation these sites have agreed to donate some of their output as prizes in some upcoming competitions.

This a potential boon for us. We could receive a lot of free publicity here. The only thing is, we need to hold up our end of the bargain. That means providing content to their site. So far, only one artist (Timo) has provided one image for me to post over at the Hypnopics site. If you feel that you are too unfamiliar with the mind control fetish please feel to contact me and I'll be happy to give you some pointers or show you some sample images. Remember, they love superheroines, so much so that November's theme is "How to Enslave a Superheroine".

Also, he would like to do a banner/link exchange with us. If Jpeger or Timo wants to provide a banner to send to them, I'll get one from Mesmereyes and pass it on to you.
