A sleek black helicopter cuts through the sunrise. Inside, the team is strapped in, halfawake, halfarmed.
The helicopter descends toward Koror, the capital , turquoise waters, lush islands, and a government rotting from the inside.
A pristine white building with flags fluttering. Inside, everything smells like polished wood and political fear.
Prime Minister Taro Isamu waits behind his desk, calm, dignified, terrified.
"Ms. Montoya is here."
"Send her in. And pray she's in a good mood."
The doors open and Blaise enters like a storm in heels. Briggs, and Nix follow... a wall of competence and chaos.
"Ms. Montoya. A pleasure. What brings you to Palau?"
"Glyph-core shipments. Tide-Marked. Your signature on falsified customs records. Shall I continue?"
