Post TARZANN -The Last Law of the Wild- 03
The jungle canopy parted like a curtain as Tarzann’s call echoed through the humid air—a sharp, guttural cry that sent monkeys scrambling through the emerald twilight above. Her body, coiled and powerful, flew between ancient mahogany trees, fingers calloused and sure on

Below, the forest floor gave way to scarred earth, then to the ghost of industry. An abandoned refinery emerged from the green clutching—rusted pipelines snaking through the undergrowth, skeletal structures clawing at the sky. The air shifted, the lush scent of loam and blooming orchids replaced by the acrid tang of decayed metal and stale oil.

She landed atop a massive storage tank, the corroded steel groaning under her weight. Her bare feet, soles tough as leather, gripped the curved surface. For a moment, she was a statue carved against the sun, blonde hair a wild mane, eyes the colour of the forest at dusk scanning the compound.

A sharp crack split the silence. A bullet whined off the tank inches from her thigh.
“There! On the tank! *Fusillez-la!*” a voice screamed from below.

Three more shots rang out, pocking the rusted metal around her. But she was already in motion, a blur of tanned skin and flying hair. She leaped, a fluid arc through the air, landing with a soft thud on a catwalk twenty feet away. Another burst of automatic fire chewed through the railing where she’d been a heartbeat before. She didn’t flinch. The gunfire was just another jungle sound, predictable, avoidable. She moved along the narrow walkway with a predator’s grace, her body dipping and weaving, bullets tracing useless paths through the space she had just vacated.

From the shadowed doorway of a control room, a larger figure emerged. General Konde Mbala’s face was a mask of fury, the ragged scar down his cheek pulsing with anger. He threw aside the Kalashnikov in his hands with a snarl of disgust.

“Useless dogs! You couldn’t hit the broad side of a fucking elephant!” He jerked his head at a hulking mercenary beside him. “The RPG. Now.”
