Heeeey... Scar City Chronicles # 45 wasn't fair!!!!!

I mean, who is this new guy that stands up to Roland? I never had heard of him, as a matter of fact, this is his first appeareance, isn't it?

And is he (it?) and Artificial Intelligence, the embodiment of the nanities... what? And why he does know and controls all the Roland empire?

The guy comes from nowhere, lectures Roland he cannot defeat his ex lover, then declares he is the most powerful and he has been using Roland all this time, and proceeds to go out while there is still time.

This reminds me of brainac of the Superman Animated Series: When it knew Krypton would be destroyed, instead of wasting time trying to save the planet, decided to save all the Kryptonian knowledge and go out in a satellite

Max has done a great work depicting Roland's fight to keep his last human side against the AI who controls the nanites colony inside him.

The guy you're talking about is the manifestation of the AI and that's the way as Roland sees the world around him.

If we had another dozen chapters, I would have given a bit more foreshadowing on the personification of the nanites and the user interface Roland used to communicate with it.

Imagine a being who sees every last thing you think and do. That is the AI. It is fully aware of every idea and emotion Roland has experienced, as well as creating the virtual world he used in previous chapters to entertain himself.

But we're on a schedule now, sadly. Things are in play that will mean a lot of interesting new tales for everyone here. But we'll be closing out Scar City to clear the deck.
