Hello Mr. Cryptic, Interesting installment!! Now we learn that Brickhouse has a fantasy to be the slave to some villain! Why is she a Hero? When she want to be a villain slave!! Does that mean she want to serve evil, villain are evil, does Brickhouse really want to be a villain?? Is Brickhouse evil at heart?? And will she change sides and become a villain in the future? What happen to wanting to be a good guy?? Wanting to be a hero and helping people, what is this thing she have with being owned by a villain, what is so thrilling about it ?? I don't get why she so in love with evil ?? EVIL ONLY DESTROY!! I was thinking about what the Dr. called Ishtar a" love genie" it a pretty good description of her!! When Brickhouse says that every villains want to possess, Ishtar!! You could understand why!!

Once under the control of a villain Ishtar can make their wishes come true like a genie, it does seem that every villain she fights she loses too them, as least the main villain! Ishtar does spent more time being a slave and serving her evil masters, then she does being a hero and fighting evil. All of Ishtar masters do get a wish, are wishes. It will interesting to see what other plans the Dr. has for his slave Ishtar after she helps him with his wife. It's been stated he wants money, that something Ishtar can do!! She can make him rich!! She can make his dreams come true!! He may never have to steal again, he and his wife can live the good life!! With his Genie/ slave at his command!! I wonder what the Dr. will take from her or how much of herself Ishtar will lose to him, like she has done in the past, villains has taken her secrets, her will from her and she have been their sex toy.

Talking about heroes, i watched Young Justice last week, they had a mole in their ranks, were ambushed and had to face the mind controlled Justice Leauge itself, but they found away to win. I also purchase the Justice Leauge Doom DVd, all the members had to face their weakness, and they all found away to turn defeat into victory!! Will Ishtar alway fall victim to evil?

I wonder how the everyday citizen and the villain community views Ishtar, because she seem to lose alot and end up serving the villain instead of protecting the good people from the villian, and that doesn't include what you recently revealed to us, that their are more videos of her having sex (most likely having sex with some villain) what is the everyday man and woman going to think about that?? What do they think of the Goddess of love and war as a Heroine and as a protector of good?? With past events from the Adventure Of Ishtar and now her defeat at the hands of Dr. Pretorius, Ishtar sure hasn't been winning a lot lately!!
C.L.

Candice's fantasies about being enslaved don't mean she wants to be a villain. I like watching Wonder Woman getting knocked out and interrogated by Nazis, but I don't want to be a Nazi. People are complicated. Brickhouse isn't interested in committing crimes, just hot sex!

In her unedited life, I figure that Ishtar wins most of the time. She's so powerful that probably about 95% of her missions involve her showing up and the villains just surrendering right away. We saw a little of that in Adventures of Ishtar #1. It would be kind of boring to show her just routinely rounding up crooks all the time, but I figure her everyday life is comparatively undramatic like that. I usually just show the dramatic parts, where she really has to struggle. In Victory Legion #1, Ishtar recieves the notice about APEX without anxiety. She expects that it is either a false alarm, or if there are crooks there, she will have no problem bringing them to justice. She thinks that because that's what usually happens.

That's an interesting question about how the everyday person sees Ishtar. In real life I think a lot of people would object to how she's dressed, although she's from an alien culture so she can justify it that way. I figure that the heroes of Victory City, although they wear flamboyant costumes, are more like special forces soldiers. Most of them don't hold press conferences so the public mostly gets glimpses of them from when their battles are video recorded.

As I alluded to earlier, in the cases where heroines are seduced and have sex with villains, like Ishtar is in this story, there are often videos of this, and those vidoes do get posted on the internet. This probably does give heroines like Ishtar some notoriety, but at the same time they save many lives every day, so they are generally respected for that. Remember how Ishtar prevented an airliner crash in Adventures of Ishtar #1? She does things like that all the time, much more often than she is captured and mind controlled, and that's the kind of thing that the public associates with Ishtar, at least as much as the sexy perils.

Hi Mr. Cryptic!! Thank for awswering my questions!! ONE WORD REPLY!! GREAT ANSWERS!! I won't bring that subject up again about Ishtar losing to the villians, your answer make a lot of sense!! Same thing with your anwers about Brickhouse!! But i do have one question i'm still wondering about. Will the villains be these only ones that get to have sex with Ishtar and Brickhouse. Will they get to be with a hero or a non-hero they want to be with of their own free will, someone they really want to be with?? This is my only recurring question.

I'm looking forward to the next installment, let me add i always look forward to seeing your cover in the covers gallery!! There really Hot!!

Dear Mr. Cryptic and Locht:

Very clever questions and answers! I think the dark fantasy of an heroine to be enslaved by a villain is a motive in all heroines! Why on earth risk yourself with people like that?

I also liked the part where Ishtar defeats the villains so easily she cannot even think of that as a challenge. I think that explains the arrogance of the superheroines who fall into traps, it’s like Bob Parr with the Incredibles: More than a hero, they feel like the maid: “Hey, did you made a mess again? I just cleaned up here!

If we think about the superhero shows, I think that’s the part that didn’t work in TV: The superhero is so powerful for little crooks, but fighting supervillains need a bigger budget and cannot be shown on TV.

The part about the public don’t knowing about the heroes is something intriguing: A lot of comics shows the super heros as celebrities (and if you think about it, a real celebrity has a lot of admiration and despise… don’t tell me you have only heard praises about, lets say, Kim Kardassian) but here you make them like special force soldiers: you only see a blur of them, and thank them for saving your life.

The only thing I want to add is the situation Pretorious has gotten himself into: Does Ishtar knows Brickhouse secret identity? If so, will she told Pretorious? Will she help his sexual life, or there is another twist coming up?

PD: You mentioned that the line “I don’t fuck minions” was added so this would not become a cheap porn. I want to add another interpretation: Ishtar is trying to convince Pretorious that evil is not a toy, if he wants to be a villain, he must face the consequences: fucking with the goddess and being unfaithful to his wife is only the beginning of his dark road. He also could tell the truth and take the heat like a man, but that’s seems something only a mature man would do ;)

Ishtar probably does not know Candice's secret identity. It's possible that as assistant director of the SDA (as Maria Jones), she has access to that information, but probably not. One of the ways the SDA is able to recruit heroes to work for them is that the assure them their secret identities will be protected. Candice registered with the SDA with her identity as secret, so her real name is either highly classified, or not in their records at all.

The SDA does have a unit that works on protecting secret identities (they were mentioned in Victory City #16), and they would pretty much have to know her name. However, I think that unit does their work separately and secretly from the rest of the SDA.

Obviously it's bad for Ron to be a villain, but of course that's where the drama comes from :) . We'll just have to see where his path takes him (and Candice).

Part of why Ishtar said "I don't fuck minions." is that I wanted her to to be having consented to have sex with Dr. Pretorius, since it's implied that she didn't want to have sex with the minions, and didn't. In the frame of mind she was in, with the chips making her Dr. Pretorius' slave, she actually wanted the sex more than he did (strange as that might seem). I like mind control, but I usually like it to be "strained" where the master has to struggle to control the slave, like a powerful dog on a leash, and sometimes the slave pulls him in directions he wouldn't have gone otherwise.

I think youre ideas are correct, Hector. I've imagined that one of Ishtar's powers is that even when defeated and controlled, she can still influence her enemies into turning away from evil.
