I know a lot of the pics here look really great, but I thought (as a part-time artist), I'd ask about some of the secrets. The first thing is where's everyone shop/get their props and poses? (lights, and textures come later?) In specific, all the tanks (science), chloroform cloths, outfits/costumes, etc. To share, I tend to shop for my stuff off renderosity/rdna/animotions freebies section and usually look for poses off Ultrawoman(Mr.Candy), Schlabber(schlabber.org) and SnowSultan's poses. Daz3D's weekly freebies aren't fast/furious enough and usually involves buying some other product. Also, does anyone here know of any modellers that'd take requests? -EU |

one of the things that artists who use poser discover real fast is that there is a steep learning curve involved. the curve, as i see it, is on a number of levels; one of the first lessons is that you will have a difficult time trying to do it on the cheap. the props sets, etc. are just a beginnning , eventually we all end up developing our own textures, and other features. another level is to develop skills in the different 3 d programs...poser 6 is radically different than p4 or pro pack. and time....time...time...you have to make a LOT of renders to learn...it doesn't come quickly or easily, but it can be fun. i think that i have now done easily 10,000 renders of which maybe 3,000 are workable. and postwork...developing skills in photoshop or some other program is vital to making this stuff. so, i reccommend, pick up all the free stuff you want...there is some good free stuff...there is also a lot of crap...but mostly practice, practice etc. you will learn with every render you do. and of course don't just spend money at r'osity and the other sites, follow the forums...there's a world of good advice out there... good luck |
