The 'who is going to play Wonder Woman' question may be the biggest topic in comics right now. If the actress isn't perfect (i.e. a Lynda Carter clone) the movie is going to suck. That's a lot of pressure for one person. |

Let me suggest a candidate: Karen McDougal. She was Playmate of the Year for 1998; has appeared in movies and TV, most lately in the remake of "The Arena". All I have to say is "wow". She looks like one of our Poser heroines brought to life. I assume that Whedon and the Wonder Woman producers will want a 'name' actress to play the role, but you could do worse than Miss McDougal. Hell, if she doesn't get the WW part I'd hire her to play Marcy or Valient Grrl in a heartbeat...

Whedon Gives Wonder Woman Update Source: SCI FI Wire March 13, 2006 SCI FI Wire caught up with Joss Whedon who says he's wrapping up the Wonder Woman script: "I'm probably going to turn it in in a few days," Whedon said of his Wonder Woman script. "It's coming along. ... There will be all of the expected stuff. Of course there will be the bracelets; there will be the invisible jet, the lasso, all of that... It's about girls maturing, a rite of passage, that kind of thing." He added that it's too early to speculate on casting for the film and that their aiming for production to begin later this year. |
