Ace photojournalist Johnny Chan made his way out of the elevator and through the newsroom..cutting a straight path towards the office of the newspaper's editor-in-chief...one of Guyana's most seasoned and respected journalists...Bruce Kandivas. Though he started off as a photographer at the Stabroek News...and was the paper's best photographer...Johnny had also learnt and honed his skills as a journalist..ever since he was partnered with the paper's top investigative journalist..Kim Parmasar. Everyone at the paper knew how Kim and Johnny started out as co-workers..then became partners and took their relationship one step further by becoming a couple and moving in together. However only Johnny knew that his girlfriend and partner was secretly Guyana's sexy and super-powered champion of justice..the OCELOT WOMAN...and it was a secret he was prepared to die for to keep any harm from coming to Kim.
News of the explosion at the Aroaima Mining Company's Three Friends Mine south of Linden was the top story in Guyana and especially so when news came across the airwaves that Ocelot Woman had responded to a distress call from the mine and had gone boldly into the mine to rescue ten miners who were said to have been trapped in a shaft when the explosion occurred. Apart from one television news crew...no other media had been able to fly to the scene of the explosion..as all other available private aircraft had been contracted to assist in evacuating the miners, bringing in medical personnel to treat the injured and also engineers to secure the mine. Johnny had just returned to the office after covering a news conference about the explosion at Aroaima's corporate headquarters in Georgetown.
Company CEO Karylynn Supasad was very sketchy on the details of the explosion..dodging questions from the press..and repeating a prepared statement she had drafted for her by the company's communications personnel..assuring that injuries to miners were minimal and a thorough investigation would be done into the matter. Supasad was whisked away by her staff and security personnel as journalists relentlessly pressured her for answers. A question from Johnny about whether she was relieved by Ocelot Woman's intervention..particularly seemed to bother Supasad in a way which Johnny was finding difficult to understand. "Why the reluctance?...What are they trying to hide?" thought Johnny as he walked into Kandivas' office. Bruce..who was watching the Channel Three newscast on television with its anchors..Gideon Koonomansingh and Jo Ann Biggs..reading updates from the mine that were being transmitted by the station's reporter in the field..Leron Brownboy.
Johnny was feeling anxious that he could not have flown out to the mine to cover Kim's heroics as Ocelot Woman..when their boss spoke. "So what's the story from Supasad and Aroaima about the explosion at Three Friends?" asked Bruce as Johnny sat down in a chair on the opposite side of Kandivas' large mahoghany desk. "Stories is more like it...Karylynn Supasad kept shifting between a natural gas leak and the mine shaft being unstable...Nothing consistent...and nothing about those ten miners who were trapped in the shaft..either she's totally in the dark about what happened or she's going a big job to cover something up at Three Friends Mine..." said Johnny. "Those are just theories at this stage of the game Johnny..not fact...You may be on to something but we need some hard evidence to prove either theory before we can print either one...Do you have any idea where Kim is?" asked Bruce.
Johnny was about to come up with the excuse which Kim told him to tell Bruce were he to ask about her absence when Bruce's attention was diverted to the television screen. "This just in..we have breaking news from the Three Friends Mine south of Linden...where as you know an explosion trapped some miners in an underground shaft...We go live at this time to our reporter on site...Leron Brownboy...Leron...What can you tell us?" said Koonoomansingh as video footage from the mine appeared on screen with the young reporter in the middle of the picture. "Gideon..There have been scenes of high drama here at the Three Friends Mine where an group of ten miners were trapped underground after an explosion took place in the shaft where they were working..." said Brownboy as he stood in front of the barricade where the company's private security guards were battling to keep the excited miners back from the barricade. Johnny and Bruce stood up as they watched events unfold on the television screen before them.
"While the cause of the explosion remains unknown at this time...We have good news that a situation which could have meant certain death for these miners and tragedy for several families has been averted..thanks to the bravery of Guyana's celebrated champion of justice...Ocelot Woman..who boldly went into the mine to rescue the miners..despite warnings from company officials about possible risks inside of the cavern which houses hundreds of other shafts such as the one which collapsed as a result of the explosion...I spoke moments earlier with Herbert Valney..the foreman here at Three Friends Mine.." said Brownboy. The live video feed was replaced with a recorded feed showing an interview with the portly, cigar smoking foreman."Like I said...We got no idea what caused the explosion..but the hero lady didn't listen to us..and she went into the mine.." stated Valney as the feed shifted back to live footage.
"The damage was extensive..but thankfully no lives were lost...just a few minor injuries but all of the miners..including those who were trapped underground..are safe and sound.." continued Brownboy. "Leron..You said that Ocelot Woman was able to rescue the trapped miners...Have you been able to speak to her to find out what she thinks might have been the cause of the explosion?" asked Koonoomansingh from his seat in the Channel Three news studio. Johnny felt a growing unease in the pit of his stomach as he saw the reporter's facial expression change from one of elation to one of sadness. "That Gideon is the only bad news we have to report to the people of Guyana today...while her courage and timely action has saved the lives of the ten miners who were trapped underground..it has come at a tremendous personal cost to Ocelot Woman herself..rescue workers found her unconscious in the cavern after the miners were brought out..Wait..I've just received word that she is being brought out now Gideon..." said Brownboy.
At that moment..there were shouts, whistles and jeers as the security guards fought to keep the miners back as the stretcher bearing the sexy Amazon of Guyana was carried towards a waiting helicopter by two rescue workers...who were flanked on either side by five other security guards. "No.." gasped Johnny in shock as he saw live pictures of his beloved superheroine girlfriend lying topless and unconscious atop the stretcher. Johnny felt anger well up inside of him as the television camera kept zooming in repeatedly on Kim's naked, big brown breasts..capped at their summits by hard and erect puffy black nipples and areolas.. which rose and fell slowly as she lay flat on her back atop the stretcher..in full view of everyone at the site of the mine and everyone in Guyana who was watching the live broadcast. Johnny saw her eyes were tightly closed in the slits of the thin ocelot pelt mask which stretched across the upper part of her beautiful face.
"Medical personnel here have been unable to revive Ocelot Woman and have decided to fly her by helicopter to hospital in Georgetown...We can only hope and pray that she will recover...Gideon and Jo Ann...back to you..." said Brownboy has his connection was terminated...and the tv news anchors continued on with the rest of the newscast. "Well you saw it first and live here on Channel Three News..exclusive footage of the Ocelot Woman half naked and unconscious after a rescue mission that seemed to have gone all wrong..at least for her..." remarked Koonoomansingh with a grin as footage of the topless and unconscious Guyanese superwoman being carried to and placed inside of a medivac helicopter was shown over and over again.
"That's right Gideon..Miss Goody Two Breasts has gotten herself knocked out again...This seems to be a habit for our heroine of the day...What kind of superheroine is she?" said Biggs..adding her observations to the conversation.
"Indeed Jo Ann...We get this kind of image with Ocelot Woman regularly these days...Viewers will also remember that she literally bared her breasts when she failed to stop the kidnapping of some children at a day care centre by a villainess called Sleep Fairy..while no one doubts that she had an amazing body..having her breasts exposed as often as they are..has become something of a bad habit of her. Just like cheap holywood starlets and attention whores. if you can't get on the news, just flash your boobs.." said Koonoomansingh...but the rest of his statement was cut off as Bruce switched off the television..disgusted by the cheap journalism that he saw.
"Bastards!!!" yelled Johnny as he kicked over a chair in anger. He was angry at the way that Kim's plight was being exploited to boost tv ratings but more importantly..he was worried that she wa seriously hurt. Bruce placed his hands on Johnny's shoulders to calm him down.
"You don't need to apologise for your actions Johnny..I know that Ocelot Woman has saved your life and Kim's many times..that she's a friend to you...Biggs is always looking for another victim to spill her poison on...She's always got a negative comment for every woman who's better looking than her.. and she knows she can't match Ocelot Woman in brains, beauty or bravery..That's why Channel Three has such low ratings..and only caters for a superficial audience..." said Bruce as he switched off the television. "Ocelot Woman did a great job as always getting saving those miners lives..at the expense of getting injured...Get to the hospital as fast as you can Johnny ...Ocelot Woman will need to have a friendly face there when she wakes up...Contact Kim and tell her to join you there as fast as she can..I'll handle this story personally and write up an editorial for tomorrow's paper condemning the way Channel Three tried to paint Ocelot Woman in a negative light..." said Bruce.
"Thanks Chief..." replied Johnny as he patted Bruce on his right arm and ran out of his office towards the elevators. "I only hope that the worst has not befallen Ocelot Woman..Guyana owes her a great debt.." thought Bruce as he watched Johnny run off to the aid of the gorgeous Guyanese superwoman he knew he cared deeply for. He knew that feeling all too well in his time as a young journalist in Guyana in the 1970's when he shared several adventures with a famous superwoman of that time...ROHANNA...GIRL OF THE GUIANAS. As the elevator doors opened in the basement of the Stabroek News building..Johnny ran towards his jeep..jumped in..started the engine and sped out of the underground parking lot on to the busy street above. The last thing on his mind were the motorists who were cursing him as they had to swerve their vehicles to the side to avoid being hit by his jeep.
As he drove towards Georgetown Memorial Hospital which had the facilities to treat Ocelot Woman...Johnny's mind was filled with worry for the beauteous Guyanese superwoman..as he replayed the images he saw of Kim on television in his mind. "Something isn't right...the news report claimed that Kim was badly hurt but..there was no visible sign of injury anywhere on her body...I've never seen her get so much as a scrape when she's Ocelot Woman..but her nipples...they were the hardest and most erect that I've ever seen them...Kim always gets put to sleep anytime anyone nails her in her Ocelot Nipples..but what could have caused that...and why take her to a hospital if she's only sleeping...There's something going on at that mine..and Ocelot Woman could be in big trouble..." thought Johnny as he pressed his foot on the gas pedal as he raced towards the hospital. Johnny had no idea just how right he was..and how well placed his concerns for his superheroine girlfriend were.
