around six months ago i decided to upgrade my equipment and after just a cursory look-around it seemed clear to me that vista was going to be a resource hog. i opted for the 64 bit xp pro as part of a dual boot with 32 xp pro as a back-up. i have since upgraded my other computers in similar fashion, but am looking toward linux as my next move. all of this drm stuff is nuts...the article you reference is daunting and there is 'tough talk' everywhere about vista and drm, i really had no idea that it was all so controversial. the same studios that are carping about film drm are selling zillions of cheap movies as $7.99 dvd's. |
