I wonder if with the internet, will it be easier for start-up bands to promote themselves by having their own site...they won't have to rely on a record company..?
I supposed what would be needed is a popular person/critic to have their own site and scour the net for new bands and promote those bands on the critic's home site...
I agree though about today's music...although I'm 40+ which may have something to do with it
I didn't like the early 90's Nirvana grunge fad and a lot of the 2005/2006 rock to me seems like kids who are trying to mix Metallica with Rap and to me it sounds like human sacrifice music...no melody, just sounds like someone playing a blender at different speeds and in the background a broken vacuum cleaner droning around.
But then, I was a kid in the late 70's early eighties who loved punk rock and I'm sure some would think that's not music
