Post Changes to the forums as a result of spammers
Hello everyone. Recently the HIP forums have been hit with a wave of spam advertising all of the normal crap that none of us want or need. To combat this I have decided to change the permissions of the forums so that only registered members can create or reply to threads. This does not change the overall operation of the forums. They are still 100% free and open to the public, you just have to take the extra few seconds to log in whenever you want to make a post. I apologize for the slight inconvenience, but I feel that this step is necessary to keep dirtbag spammers out of our discussions.

As always, comments and opinions are most welcome.

You did the right thing. Almost every other forum I know of requires registration to post in it, why not here?

Post registrations
Thanks. I personally don't think it's too much of an inconvenience to take a couple of minutes to initially register and then a couple of seconds to log in each time after. In fact, I figure that most visitors should want to reserve a nickname so he or she can have access to all of the benefits (private messaging, avatars, etc.) that go with being a registered user.
