It's that time again! Legion of Superheroines #23 now up in the member's gallery!

http://memberslogin.hipcomix.com/galler ... mId=134633

Cyren puts her ultimate plan into action: to merge her cybernetic body with the two most powerful members of the Legion: Red Venus and Blue Venus! With the completion of the process, the cybernetic seductress may become truly unstoppable! But there is a slight glimmer of hope for the captive heroines; eluding detection, the elite Lambda android Electra has managed to free Echo from Cyren's computer core. Realizing the threat Cyren presents, Echo moves to free her comrades, but can any of them be trusted? Meanwhile, Ms Proctor plans on exacting a cruelly ironic revenge on Starflair and Nightraven, hooking the pair up to an insidious machine that has the girls connected *very* intimately...and it may be their last!

Find out all the details in Issue #23!

Hi there Uroboros

First of all, let me thank you for the gift of the net at Legend Hunters 137 – 139. You are the best!

Second, I apologize again because I write you late again. But I have been really busy, please forgive me.

So, let me begin this review: Ciren could be a crazy power obsessed robot / Cyborg / trying to destroy the legion, but at least have the decency to torture his prisoners with their clothes. Why does she have to give the Legion a chance to stop her while she is in the chamber? I suppose because she is a villain and that is part of the trade.

I loved how Red Venus sticks to the famous cliché: “You won’t get away with this!”. Even when Cyren calmly remarkes that there is no one to stop her now, it’s something that needs to be said. I found Blue Venus fear more realistic, and I appreciate the touch of Red Venus calling her for her real name in this terrible situation! (I think that is the first time I hear Red Venus real name too: Venona).

Then we have Ms. Proctor and his ultimate revenge. To tell you the truth, I did not think very well of Ms. Proctor as a villain. When she was presented at Star Flair, I thought that she was not very well characterized: What was his motivation? She was already the president of a Bank, (as we are told that she has vast resources) so, why bother to fund a school of horrors with only two Hench gals (Bianca and Yoko)? Why to recruit Star Flair and NightRaven? (Well, apart for her sadistic tendencies, what is the profit in that)? And maybe the most outrageous question, how she, a regular human, escaped from Red Venus? I always thought that Casino Fatale was Chance’s operation, not Ms. Proctor.

But in the Reacquainted issue I could see Ms. Proctor manipulation of Nightraven, and how he managed to enslave her into betraying Justice in Anti Trust, I could see that Ms. Proctor is someone who just wants blind obedience. I also loved the part in Playthings when she decrees that Nightraven will be bound “when she is not in a mission”.

And then, in this arc, Ms. Proctor showed us a great comic book villain: the phrase “I am not going to torture her at all… you will!” and the exposition of how this machine works is pure genius… she earns the remark “sick bitch”. But the best part is the reveal of exactly how she will get her revenge: by making Nightraven pleasured by Star Flair clones… is really a twisted plan.

Then – at last – things are beginning to look good for the legion: will the alliance between Echo, Adrienne and Ivette prove to be Cyren’s downfall? I will like to remark that at page 343 you have captured perfectly throught your art each character disposition: Electra and Echo stand erectly like a robot, Red Lotus is unrest by her friends predicament, Adrienne is showed pondering carefully the next move… and Ivette is showed with a carefree attitude, not a worry in her little world.

I hope to make my next comment soon, thank you for all the work Uroboros!

Hector
