Now up for members, Legion of Superheroines #17!

http://memberslogin.hipcomix.com/galler ... =x32e0d504

Having agreed to do Ms Proctor's bidding if Starflair would be spared, Nightraven is given her first assignment from the sinister schoolmistress...to go to the city of Noctropolis and break into the main bank depository! With her phasing powers, this presents little difficulty for Nightraven, but the appearance of one very hardcore fishnet and PVC clad heroine might complicate things...

Catch the ongoing action in Issue #17!

Great to see Dark Justice again. I think she's your sexiest character, who also has the hottest, wildest villainesses. Hope you'll continue DJ's solo adventures amid those of the less enticing (forgive me) Legend Hunters.

It was an exciting surprise to see Justice in LOSH! I was hoping we'd see more of her. I wasn't even sure if she was in the same continuity as LOSH, so it's neat to see her and your other heroines interact. Now I'm wondering if she'll join the superteam.

I've been a member of HIP almost since it opened (including maintaining my membership for 9 months when I was in a hospital unable to even view the site just because I like to support my fellow artists) but its getting to the point where I just have to ask... is there instructions given to the artists at HIP that limit what can and can't happen on the website, other that the obvious no kiddy porn/bestiality etc...? In other words, are you allowed to have real down and dirty fight scenes between heroines and villains? Can a heroine have her brains fucked out if she's defeated by an evil criminal mastermind? Is there limits on the action you can show?
HIP has some fantastic Poser artists who do a great job creating heroines but I swear in story after story, from artist after artist, by the time the story ends and I look back upon it I see that nothing ever really happened. The story can be 200 pages long but 150 of the pages has the heroines (or villains) standing around talking to each other or saying what they're going to do... 8-10 pages of dialog followed by a fight scene that lasts 1-2 pictures; leading to a heroine being put in some device thats explained for another 9-12 pages followed by 2-3 pages of being gently made to orgasm against her will. Rinse and repeat.

I say this here because this story has some beautiful heroines, your Poser work is top rate and the storyline has very good potential... but it could easily be so much better, its sad to see it just miss the mark.

Oh well, just one mans opinion

Hi Nightwing, thanks for your comment. The ownership of HIPcomix.com (and MCcomix.com) has never once put forth any sort of edict, rules, or even guidelines about what sort of content our comics should contain. We are free to write and illustrate as we please. Of course we try to take into account the tastes and preferences of our loyal members, but as the old saying goes you can't please everyone all the time. I can't speak for everyone else, but I try to write what I like (and not write what I don't like), and hope that others are interested in reading it.

Besides, it seems to me that violent, vicious, as you say "heroine have her brains fucked out" comics are already pretty well covered by you and your associates over at SHC. While we are big fans of your artwork and respect you as competitors and fellow artists, why would we want to copy something that you quite obviously already have a handle on? Speaking strictly for myself, I am going to leave the bloody beatings, alien/monster pregnancies, and brutal gangbangs to you guys and concentrate on telling good stories with characters that actually make it through the story in one piece once in a while.

Again, thanks for your comment, and for your continued support of HIPcomix. It is very much appreciated.

- Doc

Heya Nightwing316, love your art!

I think the concept of "nothing ever really happening" is a bit subjective. By contrast, I'm adoring this story BECAUSE so much is happening. The most powerful villains have teamed up. The most powerful heroines have been captured. A ragtag group of "lesser" heroines are joining with the enemy of their enemy in a desperate bid for survival. Their headquarters blew up. Sparrow and Scarlet Lotus have gradually developed feelings for each other. Old enemies have been resurrected. And a few punches are thrown between the large amounts of plot, character development, and sexy times.

I'm fairly new at writing comics myself but I'm loving it. I admit, I prefer the more story and character-driven comics compared to the more action and sex stuff because, ultimately, the titilation will falter eventually but I think the story and characters can pick it up. My boyfriend frequently compares it to some of the more adult and erotic comics they had in Heavy Metal magazine which had plenty of boobies and sex but also some rather good storytelling as well.

And it may also be because I'm a woman and I tend to shy away from the heavier violence material (hits too close to home), but I do love my superheroines. I love the more light-hearted fun fantasy-fulfillment stuff that can be fun and funny like a vintage episode of the Superfriends, just with an erotic twist. Lol. I get that with Uroboros's LOSH stuff. Whether it's Sparrow being a stubborn, fiesty redheaded spitfire, "superior" Cyren commenting that normal lovemaking leaves her bored, or Tempest gleefully walking the line between misunderstood tragic heroine and deranged, sexually-charged psychotic, the series is captivating. Maybe not in the upfront, blow-to-the-face, hyper-sexualized kind of way (though it can be at times), but it's more nuanced and pensive, which I both greatly respect and appreciate.

... okay, fangirl rant over.

My previous reply on this post got lost in the harddrive crash, so I just wanted restate that I like Uroboros' approach.

Personally, I prefer my heroines to be portrayed as heroic. I enjoy a story where a heroine struggles through trials and suffers through humiliating defeats, but still fights on. I don't get any enjoyment out of seeing a woman victimized and destroyed. Just my two cents.
