Post MEMBER'S GALLERY UPDATE! 1/30/09! LEGION OF SUPERHEROINES #1
Now up for members, the debut of Legion of Superheroines in Issue #1!

http://memberslogin.hipcomix.com/galler ... =xaf562e49

Brought together in a common cause for justice, some of Earth's best heroines are assembled by Red Venus into a new super team; the Legion of Superheroines! Featuring the stars of previous Hipcomix series like Mad Science, Starflair, Red Venus, and Casino Fatale; Legion of Superheroines brings them all together into one super team (and super cup sizes)! :D

Opening with issue 1, the team assembles to meet a new member, Scarlet Lotus, but the ever feisty Sparrow doubts the new girl's abilities, and doesn't mince words saying so. Determined to prove herself, Scarlet Lotus agrees to a little demonstration of her powers with the spunky redhead...one Sparrow will soon regret!

Wow, great issue. I never expected Sparrow to be so hotheaded, but she's still a breath of fresh air around the other heroines. Speaking of which, it was great seeing so many old and familiar faces in a new light! And Scarlet Lotus looks like she'll fit in just fine. :)

Great story. About the only concern I have is that Aibel/Sparrow seems very much like Ariel/Tempest, Red Venus' former sidekick. Hopefully characterization in the future will help differentiate between the two.

Otherwise, a great start. Red Lotus seems like a great addition to the team!

Nice return to form! Seeing so many old favorites return certainly put a smile on my face. Scarlet Lotus kicks ass!

I sort of agree, to a degree, that Sparrow has some shades of Tempest going on. I was rather surprised at just how angry and brash she was in this chapter. She's always been a hothead, but this chapter turned her into a veritable powder keg. Not sure if she's just having a bad day or of there's an explanation for her behavior, but it caught me off guard.

The big differences I see between Sparrow and Tempest are that Tempest literally went crazy while Sparrow, as brash as she is, still has her head on straight. Tempest went rogue and evil while Sparrow still seems like she's a true blue heroine (just not the Legion's favorite). Will things change? I can only speculate. Sparrow's got a lot of potential and can go all over the place and it would feel very natural.

Will she go solo? Will she come to terms with her teammates? Will she be tempted by the "dark side" and get the respect (or fear) that has always eluded her? Will newbie Scarlet Lotus help her get in touch with her, er, sensitive side? There's a reason Sparrow's one of my favorites, and this issue just fleshes her out further while opening up the doors to her future.

Oh, and Notre Dame was great too as the older sister dealing with an embarrassing sibling. Here's hoping she continues her wonderful streak of getting herself captured (seriously, if she gets captured, it's Red Venus's fault for not sending in the other redheaded wildcard for back-up. Shame on you, RV.)

Ranting over. Bring on the next chapter! :D

I love how Sparrow was put in her place by the newbie member.

I would love to see Sparrow and her hook up.

Very hot new comic series

WOuld love to see Sparrow get cooled off with her giving in and has a relationship with her new teammate. She would dream at night to be in her clutches

I agree. Depending on the plot, the phrase 'milk run' might be awfully prophetic for poor Notre Dame....

That's the way I see Sparrow's little tantrum and Scarlet's taking her down a peg in the opening chapter. There's quite a few possible story lines that can come out of Sparrow's rage, repressed sexual desires, and sibling rivalry. I'm looking forward to seeing all that play out. Oh, and the fact that Scarlet knows exactly what Sparrow feels and wants and is more than capable of meeting those needs makes for some very, very, hot possibilities.

Great opener Uroboros! Now, let' see what the new and improved (and now with 50% less clothing!) Ms Proctor has in store for Notre Dame.

Good input, thanks all.

This has been a fun series to plan and make; it's been nice to revisit some of my older characters and see how they would interact with each other; and of course, it wouldn't be very interesting if all the girls get along without any conflict...

The Tempest connection with Sparrow's behavior had actually not occurred to me until you guys pointed it out; I would say the difference between Arel/Tempest and Sparrow is first and foremost, Sparrow isn't crazy. :D

But seriously...mostly the angle I was going for was that, as everyone probably knows by now, Sparrow has a giant chip on her shoulder about being perceived as the "kid" sister, the sidekick to Notre Dame, and now one of the few non-super powered heroines in the Legion (especially now that a hot new member shows up). That, coupled with a grade-A Irish temper and a mouth that doesn't know when to shut up, and she can get a little chippy. Sparrow wants to be a star... Will her ego and anger get her into trouble (again)? Can she let go enough to let others help her? Time will tell... ;-)
