For those who have been waiting my updates, and haven't gotten them. I need to fill alll 3 of you in. 2 weeks ago, I started seeing problems with my rendering software. Lots of crashes and lock-ups. So I had to give my Saturday update to Sturk. I thought I was just going to be behind a few days, and I would be able to catch up during the week. I had put an update together, but Sturk also wanted to post on his usual day. I was fine with that. I would just wait until the following Sat to post. So I sat on my finished update... Until... Well, Sometime Thursday, my laptop completely stopped booting. I get to the "Start Windows Normally" screen, and then it reboots, and asks me what drive I want to boot from. I got the click of death. So, Friday, I went to go purchase a new laptop *thanks to doc for the online shopping). However...All I could find was Vista. No XP! Well.. I Backed up from XP... and of course... you can't restore from an XP backup to Vista. Sooooo.. Rushing (since I had to update the next day), I hurriedly installed all the Photoshop, and Poser, and Daz stuff I had. Poser 5 doesn't work on Vista. Or if it does, it escapes me how to start it without the "I need additional drivers" error message. Sooooooo, I had no way to update on Saturday. So I asked Fin to fill in for me. I'm in the process of manually moving and extracting all the files from the backup (which is compressed in some weird Microsoft format) on to my new computer. A directory at a time I might add. Once that is done, I'll have to buy and install a new Poser, and hopefully I can just drop the 3 trillion files I have for Poser 5 right into the runtime dir and it will work. If not, It might be a while before I figure this out. So if you are wondering where I am.... I'm in "Gad Domit" land. I shall return soon. /me crosses fingers. Jpeger. |

Sounds like you've been thru hell ! When Xp can't find the operating system it's very likely a wakeup call to a HHD on the way out. Burn all your runtimes and folders onto a DVD as data with nero as fast as you can! I like to keep poser libraries as empty as possible for that very reason. |

If anyone gives me the story, I'll draw it... Sorry guys, I'm totally new here (member since July, though (well with one little absence)) So may be OT, but I want to ask if Jpeger ever consider to continue with Electron. I know he's a busy man and so, but I think Electron and Pussycat are the most babes on HIP |
